Kiss Kompendium
by Miles “okpank” Perzewski
Back in the day, the big comic for me was Batman. Anything Batman for around a dollar I’d love to get. That may be my first run in with comics. I’ve resided in Madison my whole life. around 1998 for my birthday my dad provided me some comics from Westfield, never even understood the place existed before that. I chosen up other comics also like Sonic the Hedgehog and tomb Raider together with some KISS stuff. since then I still have a bunch of Batman comics, but I have not bought any Batman or superhero comics in general for a long time. The main things that interest me are Sonic the Hedgehog comics, Manga, and toys. If I come across something that interests me, maybe with a amazing cover, I may get it. half the time or more I don’t even read books I get, just sit there and collect dust. then things come out like the new KISS Kompendium, which is awesome, so I get rid of all the single problems and keep the big door stop for a long time when I’ll get around to read it. I don’t even think I’ve read Sonic for around the last 30 issues, I have them all, just don’t seem to get around to reading them. You could say I’m a collector more than a reader.
Shonen Jump
Manga is my all time favorite type of comic. With Manga, the art stays the same for every series as a lot of the time they’re made by one person. It’s not like American comics where, say, every eight problems you get a new team or just the artist or writer. Some would say that is good and actually it makes sense since American comics usually go on forever. The Japanese art style really gets me too. here in the US, I really only love a select few artists, but with Manga there may some bad art, but a lot of are just amazing. Anything out of Shonen jump is basically a win to buy. series like DragonBall, One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach are all triple a titles. If you like Anime, you have to like one of these, at least I think so. getting the product is important to me. too much Manga is read for free making some not buy the English adaptation when it comes out, making it hard for some business to make money. just having the actual product in hand makes me happy. So buy what interests you and ideally actually read everything, unlike my lazy self!
